The PRoject
The goal of the secretary of the future was to find a piece of land and come up with a policy chance that would benefit the land and the area around it. We then predicted what would happen to the land within a span of 10, 1000, and 2000 years.

Rush creek
As a group, we chose Rush Creek as the land for our policy change. Rush creek is a natural marsh located in Novato, California. It is North of the Vintage Oaks shopping center and East of Highway 101. Rush Creek is home to many species of California native wildlife such as birds, butterflies, foxes and reptiles. Rush Creek has warm, mostly dry summers and cool, wet winters.
As a group, we decided that our policy change would be to add a nature retreat center to Rush Creek. This retreat center would feature cabins, a kitchen, fire pit and amphitheater area. The retreat center would be able to house up to 60 students, plus additional staff. This center would provide a fun and educational experience for both students and teachers alike.
The center would be positioned on the south side of rush creek, complete with 6 cabins, an industrial kitchen, and a large amphitheater area with a fire pit. This campus could allow for students to spend several days or more at the retreat and further enrich their outdoor experience.

I think that my group and I did a great job with this project. I think our idea and policy would be beneficial to Rush Creek. I think we all worked very well together and did a good job collaborating our ideas. I think we could have worked on staying on task and distributing work between ourselves. I think that it would have been better if we made a plan for what we wanted to do each day. We would've stayed on task better. I have learned we can get more work done when we all work together. I am going to work on establishing a plan of action when every work day starts. I also want to work on not getting distracted easily by splix.io. I think my group had a great presentation, with lots of detail. I did not think this project was the most fun, but it was a good learning experience. I look forward to doing more projects this year and learning more about biotech.
